The room was clean and the bed was comfy.

The stay here was very comfortable on a road trip. Our hotel was in a particularly good and amazing location close to food shops. And it was also very close to a pub suggested by the friendly staff member. We greatly enjoyed the breakfast.

The rooms were new-fashioned and budget, equipped with a lounge and a kettle. Truly enjoyed views over courtyard...

So, I found myself at this place for a little escape, and it turned out to be a mixed bag. Let’s dive into the nitty-gritty. First off, the apartment was pretty spacious, which was a huge plus. I really liked having my own little courtyard; it gave that nice sense of privacy, and access to the pool was an added bonus. I imagined myself lounging by the water in summer – sounds great, right? But then there were some things that really needed addressing. The bathroom door was super squeaky! It woke me up when my partner got up during the night, which was quite annoying. And there was no microwave, dinnerware, or even wine glasses. Luckily, I brought my own stuff so I could whip up a basic breakfast. That definitely saved me! On top of that, I noticed there wasn't a hairdryer in the room – which was a bit of a bummer since I had to go ask at reception. They didn’t mention it at check-in, so I had to figure it out on my own. The air conditioning was kind of temperamental too. It worked when it felt like it, but sometimes it just decide to cut off for a while. It got sticky in the bedrooms, especially when it was hot. A fan or two wouldn’t hurt! And the shower pressure was lackluster. I enjoyed my showers, but it felt like I was getting misted with a garden hose instead of a proper spritz. And can we talk about the noise? Wow. There was some kind of sports group there when I checked in. They seemed to have a never-ending party that kept me up at nights. Saturday was a real killer, and I had to cancel family plans because I was just too exhausted. There were moments I thought I might have to call the front desk, but it didn’t seem to help much. On another note, I really appreciated the help from the staff. They were super friendly and accommodating when I had to call about arriving late. While the check-in was smooth, I wish they'd been a bit more upfront about the noise issue – that could have saved me a good bit of trouble! All in all, I found it a real struggle sometimes, especially with the noise and some amenities lacking. It felt like a gamble – could’ve been great if those issues were sorted out!

Marvellous position was an added bonus. Also, it was 10 min drive from Victoria Park Lake.

The Southgate in Shepparton offers excellent service. the breakfast is particularly nice and the staff is very friendly. - the setting is ideal and easy, adjacent to shops and the main shopping area. - the rooms are reasonably large and generously sized. - the beds are comfy.
